Before a music class
To prepare your child to get the most out of music class, it is important to follow these recommendations:
- Always maintain a positive attitude towards the class, see it as something fun and that the whole family enjoys.
- Remind the child hours and minutes before that he will have classes soon. Use language that encourages him.
- Remind them of the class routine.
- The best thing is that the child is not tired from other activities or just getting up from a sleep nap.
- Likewise, that he is well fed and if possible that he has gone to the bathroom previously.
- The minutes before class it is recommended that the child is not in activities that he does not want to stop doing, such as watching TV, playing video games, etc.
- The environment for the classes should be calm and quiet, away from objects and noises that distract them such as a TV on, video games, cell phones, toys, etc.
- The child should have practiced before his music class; this will give him confidence and enthusiasm in seeing his class.
The success of music classes depends largely on practice between classes. Children who do not practice feel insecure and frustrated because the pieces do not come out in class as they would like, it ends up seeming very difficult to them and they end up saying that they do not like the instrument. Just practice helps them feel proud of their achievements and love music.
- Create a musical environment at home that favors their development and awakens their love for music. Always have music in your home. Actively listen to music. Sing and dance with your children. Make music together.
As parents, you are a role model and what you do is very important. So if you convey to your children that music is important to you, it will become important to them and they will develop a love and respect for music from a very young age.
